Can't I choose what's in the comments as the best answer?

I think there is a discrepancy between usage and expectation. Answers are meant to respond to questions, while comments are used for annotations.

  • Avoid answering questions in comments.
• Answer comment used to
  • Reply to other users or notify them of changes.
  • If you are adding new information, edit your post instead of commenting.

Only answer can be accepted as best answer. Comment can be voted as the top comment.
